They Travel in Pairs!

I confess that i'm finding dog photography much more challenging than i expected, but i hope that with practice i'll be able to do justice to the many beautiful dogs of Rogers Park. It's hard to get a good picture of a dog: they aren't the most patient subjects. And as I've noticed since starting this project, in the RP the dogs tend to come in pairs, posing an even greater challenge. I encountered the dogs pictured here near the tennis courts at Farwell and the beach last week. All three were in pairs, but as you can see, i met with wildly varying degrees of success in photographing them.

Sunday in the Park with Dogs

Is there anything harder than getting a good picture of a Jack Russell
terrier chasing a tennis ball?  If you're lucky, you might catch a white blur
streaking across the frame. If you're less lucky, he's moved out of the frame
before you get a chance to click the picture. So, i feel pretty fortunate
to have actually caught these two little Jacks before they went
tearing off across the lawn and out of the picture.
